PRODUCT GUIDE / PUBLIC RELEASE 0.2.5
RELAY Windows
The native catalogue, source and playback experience. Current public version: 0.2.5.
Download and install
- Download RELAY only from streamparallax.com/downloads/relay-windows. That URL always serves the current stable installer.
- Run the branded RELAY installer on a 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC. RELAY installs to
C:\Program Files\PARALLAX\RELAY. - If Windows SmartScreen appears, verify that the file came from the official site before continuing. Update packages carry a PARALLAX release signature. Commercial Authenticode enrollment may still be in progress.
- Launch RELAY from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Browse and discover
Home uses the same server-managed catalogue foundation as RELAY Web. Movies and Series provide focused browsing, Discover offers deeper exploration, Live TV presents available channels, and My Library keeps saved titles together. Catalogue addons add rows without replacing official defaults.
Titles, sources and playback
The flow is title or episode → Sources page → player transition → playback. Torrent availability checks run separately from buffering. Playable sources move first; an unconfirmed result is not automatically treated as dead. Direct HTTP streams are identified separately.
Addons
Official catalogues are enabled by default. Users can install compatible RELAY or Stremio addon manifests and choose which community catalogues and source providers to enable. Catalogue addons add Home rows; source addons add choices on the Sources page. Review third-party addon permissions and use only services you trust.
Open your own source
Use Open source to supply a magnet link or supported torrent metadata file. A torrent file contains metadata, not the completed video. Only open sources you are authorised to use.
Native player
The player includes playback, seeking, volume and fullscreen controls plus source-dependent audio-track selection, subtitle discovery and local subtitle-file loading. Subtitle settings include timing, size and vertical position. The statistics panel can show torrent and transfer information. Casting uses Windows capabilities and device support varies.
More actions
When supported, the More menu can open the video in VLC, copy a local stream link, copy the magnet link or download the video. VLC must already be installed. Local stream links are temporary and are not public sharing URLs.
Updates
RELAY 0.2.5 checks the stable release channel as soon as the app launches, then every minute while it is running. A bottom banner appears when a newer verified version is available and you are not in an active presentation. Choose View update, download it, then select Install and restart. RELAY closes, opens the branded updater, updates the existing Program Files installation and relaunches. Updates do not create a second installation.
Tray and storage
Closing the main window keeps RELAY in the Windows notification area. Right-click its tray icon and choose Quit to fully exit. Writable browser and application data are stored in the user profile rather than Program Files. Temporary playback data is released when sessions close; downloaded videos and imported subtitle files remain separate.
Current boundaries
Support depends on the source, container, codec, hardware and receiver. DRM streams, provider-specific proxy requirements, archive extraction, NZB playback and every possible Stremio stream extension are not guaranteed by a manifest alone.
